Tadoba National Park
The oldest and largest national park in Maharashtra, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of the best places in India to spot tigers in their natural habitat, with approximately 43 resident adults.
With its dense teak forests, open meadowlands, deep valleys and scattered lakes, the park provides diverse habitats for numerous species including sloth bears, wild dogs, leopards, hyenas, civets, pythons and crocodiles. Birdlife is abundant, with the forested banks of the River Andhari providing nesting sites for a vast range of wetland, woodland and raptor bird species, including three critically endangered eagles: the grey-headed fish eagle, crested serpent eagle and the changeable hawk-eagle.
