Hatton
At a slightly higher altitude, Hatton sits in the heart of the tea country and is one the regions main towns.
The town has little to offer most visitors on a tight schedule, but the area surrounding it is stunning. Here you'll find some of the most beautiful scenery in Sri Lanka. Most arrive into Hatton with their driver or ideally by train; it a glorious journey and a timeless one, particularly coming down from Kandy.
We recommend staying in one of the converted bungalows in the area, as from here you can enjoy walks and a visit to a tea plantation and factory. The accommodation around here is really quite exceptional. This really is a quintessential Sri Lankan experience.
