Sinharaja & Kitulgala, Sri Lanka

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is Sri Lanka's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This 11,187-hectare reserve in the island's southwest is renowned for extraordinary biodiversity, with over half of its 830 plant species found nowhere else on Earth. The dense forest harbours numerous endemic birds, mammals, and reptiles, including the Sri Lankan blue magpie and purple-faced langur.

Visitors can explore this pristine ecosystem through guided trails, experiencing one of Asia's most important biodiversity hotspots and a crucial watershed for the region.
