Inspiration
Amidst a maze of streets in Jodhpur’s Ratanada neighbourhood, Daspan House is a stylish and delightful heritage property that feels special without being too ornate.
The red sandstone architecture reflects its heritage, complemented by old photographs, antique furniture and art work. There are plenty of little nooks to discover but our favourite hangout is the Old Loco bar, with its quirky decor and fantastic collection of Indian spirits. There is also a rooftop pool overlooking the courtyard. The 18 rooms are uniquely decorated, all with comfortable beds, fresh colour palettes, and historic artwork. This is a wonderful additional to Jodhpur.
What we love
- A beautiful red sandstone property, lovingly converted from the owner’s former home
- Each of the 18 rooms is uniquely decorated, with plenty of character
- Sip classic cocktails in the vibrant Old Loco bar
- Our favourite spot to unwind is the roof terrace – be sure to grab a poolside lounger
There aren’t any spa facilities but the infinity pool is a great place to unwind
Ratanada is one of Jodhpur’s more residential neighbourhoods but the city’s highlights are a short drive away and we like being somewhere authentic
The Old Loco bar is open to the public so gets busy during peak times, but this adds to the atmosphere
Families are very welcome at Daspan House but facilities aren’t designed with families in mind.
Daspan House is located on Old Loco Road in the centre of Jodhpur. It’s approximately a 15-minute drive to key attractions like the old city gates or Mehrangarh Fort.
