Haveli Braj Bhushanjee

An oasis of calm in the heart of the architectural and artistic haven of Bundi, Braj Bhushanjee is an authentic, 250-year-old Rajasthani haveli.

Nestled at the foot of the Garh Palace, the hotel offers tantalising vistas of this 14thcentury Rajput masterpiece, as well as wider views out across the Aravalli hills. The historic home of the politically revered Braj Bhushanjee family, every corner of the hotel still sings of this rich heritage.

We love the storytelling on walls and ceilings, where vibrant miniature paintings, frescoes and murals depict the lives of the Rajput warriors, who shaped the cultural identity of this town. The 20 rooms are light filled, traditionally furnished and adorned with art, offering an immersive insight into the town’s creative heritage and keenly preserved ancestral lifestyle. A vegetarian breakfast and dinner are both served either in the haveli’s time-honoured dining hall or on the roof terrace.

Bundi is not on the well-trodden tourist trail so expect to see the raw Rajasthan with all its authentic customs, colour, fragrance and noise

This is a traditional haveli that celebrates rather than modernises its heritage, so you won’t find state-of-the-art tech, a pool or luxurious spa facilities

Some of the rooms are up steep stairs, making full use of the historic building, so ensure you ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility issues

Children welcomed with additional beds available, at an additional cost, within every room

The owners are committed to showcasing and celebrating the heritage of this lesser visited yet remarkable town. Many of the staff are inspirational fonts of information about Rajasthani art and Bundi’s rich creative history.

Directly below the Gargh Palace, known locally as Bundi Fort, the hotel is in the historic centre of Bundi and within walking distance of all its highlights

Exceptional tour of Sri Lanka with Dami. We cannot recommend Dami at Red dot tours highly enough. As our guide over 9 days he made sure that our trip to Sri Lanka was unforgettable- always going above & beyond to impart his knowledge, show us things off the beaten track, looking after us, getting us to try many local delicacies & making us laugh .. a LOT. Cannot imagine anyone doing a better job- if we could take him with us on every holiday we would!

Dulmini did a great job listening to our wishes and arranged an itinerary that was very busy but met all our needs. Sisira, our guide, was outstanding, providing us with great local knowledge and suggesting other activities on our travels. He was a great driver on the busy Sri Lankan roads, was always punctual but above all added colour to the whole trip.

Wow what can I say, from start to finish we have had a wonderful holiday with Red Dot Tours. We spent 13 days on a Bawa tour with wonderful driver and guide Manjula, including Kandalama Heritance, The Kandy House, The Last House, Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Lighthouse and Club Villa hotels. We are 3 friends, one of them in the wheelchair. Dulmini Ekanayake from Red Dot Tours was very helpful and very patient and found solutions to all our special demands.

This is an excellent tour company. They planned our Sri Lankan holiday from start to finish. The trip was initially planned for 2022 but due to Covid and other issues we didn’t manage to undertake the trip until this year. As a group of 8 we have had the most fabulous tour of Sri Lanka organised by Dulmini from RedDot who totally understood my brief of "some" culture, agriculture, nature, trekking and relaxation. The hotels chosen were a wonderful mixture of homestay, tented and pure luxury (Ceylon Tea Trails). The experiences to local villages, trekking the Pekoe Trail and climbing Pidurangala were memorable and our wonderful guide, Ananda, was so informative and knowledgeable and adapted to our needs admirable (not easy with a group of 8)
