Inspiration
With its 10 luxury tents and a Relais & Châteaux seal of approval, Sujan Jawai Leopard Camp promises a balance of exquisite comfort and wild adventure, right in the heart of Rajasthan.
This beautiful rural stay has been family-run for nearly 50 years, and the owners are as dedicated to conservation as they are to hospitality. We could spend days out on safari with the hotel’s knowledgeable guides, spotting everything from birdlife to leopards, or cycling through the local villages.
In your downtime, you can unwind with a yoga class before dipping in the heated pool, ending the day dining by candlelight.
What we love
- A haven for wildlife watchers and photographers. You can catch birdlife, deer, monkeys, porcupines, and even leopards
- Heated pools, yoga classes and massages will allow you to rejuvenate when you’re not out on safari
- Plenty of landmarks to explore, including UNESCO sites, ancient temples and Jawai Lake
- With such little light pollution, the dreamy night skies here are unrivalled
- The owners are dedicated to conservation and their local community, and would be happy to share stories of the site’s heritage with you
It's relatively far from both Jodhpur and Udaipur and all the amenities a city could offer, but perfect for those looking for remote sanctuary
As it’s so remote, there’s little choice for restaurants close by, but the food has such a good reputation, we don’t expect you’d want to go anywhere else
While people of all ages can enjoy the magic of a safari, there is less on site to keep young children entertained
Families are welcome, but amenities are not designed with families in mind
Sujan has helped to restore 100km2 of stable natural habitat, and rehabilitate over 100 different wildlife species. Their sanitation programme benefits over 3,000 local households, and their policy of zero single-use plastics has removed two tonnes of plastic from their waste stream.
Their philanthropic work in local communities spans education, health, skills and conservation, and 80% of employees are from Rajasthan, with the majority being from rural communities.
Spectacularly set amongst the wild and rugged scenery of Jawai, home to leopards and other wildlife. It’s a 25-minute drive from Jawai Bandh village and 40 minutes from the town of Sumerpur.
