Inspiration
Ferncliff is a beautifully preserved heritage bungalow in Nuwara Eliya, offering a refined yet welcoming retreat.
Nestled within expansive gardens at the base of Mount Pedro (Piduratalagala), Sri Lanka’s highest peak, it provides a safe and spacious setting for families. This four-bedroom property has been a cherished holiday home for generations, maintaining its colonial charm while incorporating contemporary comforts. The bungalow features a cosy lounge with a fireplace, a dining area overlooking a peaceful courtyard with mountain views, and spacious bedrooms that open onto the gardens.
Each bedroom is furnished with twin or king-size beds, a wardrobe, planter’s chairs, a comfortable sitting area and ensuite bathroom. Modern amenities include satellite TV and electric heaters for cooler nights. Interiors combine period antiques with modern touches, accented by handwoven textiles, delicate batiks on silk, and black-and-white photographs that echo a bygone era. With its inviting and informal atmosphere, Ferncliff can be booked by the room or as an exclusive retreat for up to eight guests.
