Inspiration
Jim’s Farm Villas is a secluded eco-retreat set within a 50-acre coconut and spice estate in the quiet village of Pallepola, near Matale.
Tucked away in a lush, little-known landscape, it is a serene stop for those travelling between the Cultural Triangle and Kandy and is fantastic for both couples and families of all ages. Named after the British owner’s ancestors, this tranquil estate blends relaxation with an authentic glimpse into plantation life.
Sustainability is at its heart, with a strong focus on organic farming and rainwater harvesting. Winding pathways invite gentle walks through the estate, where stunning views unfold at every turn. Birdwatchers will find this a rewarding spot, with over 80 species including Grey Hornbills and Serpent Eagles frequenting the treetops. Jim’s Farm Villas is a retreat for those who seek unspoiled beauty, sustainable living, and a deeper connection with Sri Lanka’s natural rhythms.
What we love
- Wandering the coconut and banana palms, weaving between mango and papaya trees, you’ll gain a unique insight into the organic methods of cultivating these crops
- Comfortable accommodation with cooling kumbuk wooden flooring, vaulted ceilings and locally crafted teak and rattan furniture
- Farm-to-table dining with fresh, organic produce from the on-site farm
This is a small, family run hotel so don’t expect 24hr food service or vast menu options. Limited connectivity may not suit those needing constant internet access
The resort is very family friendly with all the villas able to accommodate family groups. As well as the swimming pool, the hotel has badminton, volleyball and table tennis available in the grounds with a pool table and table football on offer in the games room.
On-site activities like farm tours and cooking classes on offer for children, babysitting services available on request.
Jim’s Farm Villas is equidistant between Kandy and Dambulla, both less than an hour away, and is perfect for those wanting to add a taste of hill-country living into their tour of the cultural triangle.
