Goldi Sands is a budget beachside hotel situated in Negombo just 20 minutes from the international airport. Relax and unwind here after a long journey. The capital city of Colombo is about one-and-a-quarter hours to the south.
Introduction
Goldi Sands favoured by several budget package tour operators, is among the most reliable bargain choices on Negombo’s hotel strip. It has a great setting on Negombo’s broad and sandy beach, a decent swimming pool and a happy and committed staff who bring a good feel to this value-for-money hotel with a loyal repeat clientele.

There are 75 a/c double rooms all with private balconies with sea views. Rooms are furnished with double or twin beds, telephone, mini-fridge, electronic safe, and tea/coffee making facilities. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers. A refurbishment programme of rooms is taking place so ask Red Dot for guidance.
Facilities
The main restaurant serves a range of fresh sea food dishes, Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Theme nights and BBQs are held at the `Beach Hut’ restaurant. A range of alcoholic beverages are available here. A fresh water swimming pool is located amidst gardens scattered with coconut palms. Goldi Sands is well equipped for weddings, private celebrations, as well as conferences and seminars. Other facilities include IDD telephone, internet facilities and doctor on call.
Excursions
Explore Negombo’s fishing villages, ride on a catamaran with the fisherman, or visit old Dutch and Portuguese period churches. For those interested in nature and the wilderness, take a boat ride into the Muthurajawela marshes and the Negombo Lagoon - home to numerous species of birds and fish, dragon flies and monitor lizards.
