Explore The Pekoe Trail

The Pekoe Trail is a 300-kilometre hiking trail through Sri Lanka's Central Highlands, divided into 22 stages from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. The route follows old cart roads and footpaths through working tea estates, where you'll encounter the daily rhythms of plantation life - from early morning tea plucking to the afternoon weighing stations. Travellers typically walk individual sections, staying in small hotels and getting glimpses into communities that have remained largely unchanged for generations. Since opening in 2023, the trail has offered a rare chance to experience Sri Lanka's hill country beyond the usual tourist circuit.
