Elephas Resort is a small, eco-friendly holiday retreat surrounded by wilderness and paddy fields in the heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle. Accommodation is in 32 well-appointed ensuite bedrooms housed in two-storey chalets, which open out to the swimming pool and gardens beyond. After a rewarding day of exploring the Cultural Triangle, cool off with a dip in the pool and enjoy a relaxing afternoon on your private verandah.
The 32 bedrooms are set in 16 chalets facing the swimming pool and paddy fields. Room interiors are furnished with twin or double beds with the option of a third bed in certain rooms. The rooms are decorated with vibrant local fabrics and have a/c, overhead fans, tea/coffee facility, mini-fridge, satellite TV, IDD telephone, electronic safe and an ensuite bathroom with an h/w shower.
The main building consists of the reception desk, an open-sided lounge that looks across the wilderness and paddy fields and a restaurant on the upper floor. Dine on traditional Sri Lankan cuisine served in clay pots. Western, Indian and Eastern dishes are also on offer. Other hotel facilities include a swimming pool, complimentary Wi-Fi, room service and bicycles, with which guests can explore the surrounding village. Elephas Resort organises guided bird-watching trails, a bullock cart tour of the village and fishing in the Audangawa Lake.
Elephas Resort is in the village of Kimbissa near the Sigiriya Rock Fortress at the heart of the cultural triangle. The tranquil Audangawa Lake is just a short stroll away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about four hours.
