Dambulla
Dambulla is a town in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, known for its impressive Dambulla Cave Temple, also called the Golden Temple.
This UNESCO World Heritage site features a network of ancient caves adorned with intricate Buddhist murals and over 150 remarkable Buddha statues, making it the largest and most well-preserved cave temple complex in the country.
Beyond the caves, Dambulla is a great starting point for exploring nearby attractions like the striking Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the historic city of Anuradhapura. With its rich cultural history set against lush surroundings, Dambulla offers something completely unique. We also love that it's a great pace to stop between Sigiriya and Kandy.
