Snapshot
Sri Lankan cuisine is very distinctive, an intriguing combination of flavours and aromas influenced by the island’s striking ethnic diversity and centuries of interaction with outside settles, from the early Arab traders to European colonisers. This Colombo cooking class is led by a Sri Lankan female entrepreneur who set up her successful food-based business nearly 30 years ago. Drawing inspiration from her Malay heritage and the Sinhalese and Tamil culinary traditions found throughout the island, your host has created a range of recipes for rice, curries, salads and sambols, all of which have distinguished – and delicious – tastes and colours.
