Location
Situated at the edge of a cliff with spectacular views of the Ella gap and the Bambaragama water falls, Mountain Heavens Hotel is a six bedroomed guest house which is conveniently located near the Ella railway station. Situated 3,300 ft. above sea level, Ella can be reached via Ratnapura or Nuwara Eliya. The town of Bandarawela is just half and hour away and Haputale is one hours drive.
Introduction
Perched high on a hillock surrounded by mountain peaks and lush vegetation, Mountain Heavens Hotel has an enviable spot right in front of Ella Gap and Little Adam’s Peak. Sit in the gardens and capture the beautiful sunset with a cup of hot Ceylon Tea. The Ella bound train goes by the hotel and is interesting to track it as the red steam engine winds itself around the mountains and gradually disappears. Mountain Heavens is terraced with the dinging and lounge areas at the entrance level and rooms located many steps down at different levels. This design provides for mountain views from each of the rooms with the best views right at the bottom where a small garden and sit- out is located. Rooms at Mountain Heavens are basic, but comfortable and clean.

Accommodation
Level one has two interconnecting double bedrooms which shares a bathroom and is more suited for a family. Level 2 has additional two bedrooms each with attached bathrooms with h/w showers and windows opening out towards the Ella Gap. The lowest level also has two bedrooms which open out to a strip of garden edged with flowering blooms including roses. Snacks and tea is served here and is ideal for catching the beautiful sunset. Bedrooms are furnished with a double bed, table and chair for reading, TV and pedestal fan. A baby cot is available on request.
Facilities
The main dining area and lounge at the entrance level has spectacular views of the Ella Gap and waterfall. Tasty Sri Lankan rice and curries are served here for lunch and a choice of grilled meats or curries for dinner. A continental breakfast is on offer with freshly baked bread which is brought each morning from Ella town.
Excursions
Explore the spectacular surroundings with fruit trees that attract numerous species of birds. Several treks are possible from here to Little Adam’s Peak, the ancient Dova Temple, and Ravana caves and Ravana falls associated with the epic Ramayana tales. Adisham, a Benedictine Monastery, and several waterfalls including Dunhinda and Diyaluma are all located nearby in Ella, Bandarawela, and Haputale.
