Sergeant House consists of two pavilions and an old southern bungalow which was originally built in the 1800s for the local Police sergeant. The present owner has retained the original Dutch period architecture of this old bungalow and extended similar features to the newly added pavilions. The result is a wonderful holiday retreat that blends old world charm with modern day conveniences. Courtyards, terraces, and verandahs merge seamlessly with the gardens that attract many birds and even the occasional monkey. The interiors are decorated with Dutch period antiques, plush sofas, hand-carved screens, and original art from India and the Orient. Rise leisurely and relax by the swimming pool surrounded by bird call, or take a stroll to Unawatuna beach and enjoy the sun and surf. The Sergeant House can be rented as a whole or in part. The entire property can accommodate up to 11 guests and is perfect for a group of friends travelling together, a family holiday or even a special celebration.
