Ardeen Villa is a modern villa in an escapist setting by the wide open stretches of Ranna beach, east of Tangalle and is an attractive getaway for family or friends seeking a get-away-from-it-all beach life. The villa is spacious and is decorated in simple colours and furnishings. Ardeen Villa has three bedrooms encircling a central covered courtyard in which the dining and lounge area is situated and a fully-equipped kitchen. It can accommodate up to eight people, ideally including two children, and can be booked by the room or (more naturally perhaps) in its entirety.
There are three large a/c bedrooms with high ceilings: two sea view double rooms which can sleep two adults, and a family room with one double and two single beds which can accommodate up to two adults and two children. Each room comes with a writing table and chairs. All rooms are light and the villa’s high ceilings help keep the interior cool. Each room has an attached bathroom with twin vanities and all amenities. The two sea view rooms each have a private terrace leading to the beach and pool. The entrance to the villa is via a driveway dotted with bougainvillea and frangipani where peacocks occasionally stroll.
Ardeen Villa has a large lounge and dining area and bedrooms that open up to the swimming pool, and a grassy area overlooking the Indian Ocean. Beyond the enticing swimming pool, it has a rustic, covered bar area and even benefits from its own small stretch of sand with beach-volleyball net with the sandy beach beyond through a simple wooden gate. The villa has free WiFi and BBQ facilities. A fully-equipped modern kitchen is particularly useful in a quiet area with limited restaurants. and the in-house chef is able to whip up both Sri Lankan and Western dishes as well as a children's menu. Arrange a boat trip on the nearby lagoon.
Why We Like It
The getting-away-from-it-all feel deep in Sri Lanka's south east corner
Ardeen Villa sits by Ranna beach, about two hours from Galle town and about 30 minutes east of Tangalle on a still largely undeveloped stretch of Sri Lanka's south coast. Kalametiya bird sanctuary is a short hop down the coast.
