Current Vacancy: Travel Specialist
Location: Oxfordshire / Hybrid / Flexible
Full Time or Part Time
About the role
This is the job at the heart of Red Dot. You'll get to know our clients, find out what they're really hoping for from a trip (which usually takes more than one conversation), and design tailor-made itineraries that are genuinely built around them, not adapted from a template. Our journeys are highly bespoke and creative.
You'll work with our ground handlers and travel partners across Sri Lanka, India, the Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal, many of whom we've worked with for years. Building your own deep connection to that supplier network is one of the most rewarding parts of the role, and those relationships are what allow us to create trips most other companies couldn't.
What the job involves
Talking to clients and getting to the real shape of what they want. Designing detailed itineraries across our five destinations. Managing costings, bookings and all the logistics that sit behind a well-run trip. Helping to source new product, from hotels to experiences that few people have found yet. Keeping well ahead of what's new and changing across each country, because being a leader in tailor-made travel means knowing what's happening before anyone else does. Working with journalists from time to time, sharing the knowledge and access that helps them tell the right stories about the places we work in. And working closely with the rest of the team.
What we're looking for
We're looking for warm, team-oriented people whose values match ours. Everything else on this list comes second to that.
First-hand knowledge of the countries we work in. This matters more than almost anything else on this list. If you have deep travel industry knowledge of another destination, we'd love to hear from you too.
A warmth with people that makes clients feel genuinely listened to, and a patience for the kind of conversation where you ask more questions than you answer. An ability to build trust quickly, with clients and with partners alike.
Severe attention to detail and strong organisational skills, because bespoke travel lives and dies by the small things.
A genuine passion for responsible travel and what it can mean for the destinations and communities we work with.
Experience in a bespoke travel environment is preferred. Previous experience in our five destinations is a strong advantage.
What we offer
Flexible working across 3 or 5 days per week. Annual research trips to the destinations we sell. Participation in exciting trade shows. Deep connections with some of the best suppliers and ground partners in the industry. The opportunity to get heavily involved in marketing and product development, should you want it. A warm, collaborative team. Real responsibility from the start.
To apply
Send your CV and a covering email to jobs@reddottours.com, telling us which of our destinations you know best and what draws you to Red Dot. We'll come back to you within two weeks.
