Money, Connectivity & Daily Basics
That depends on how and where you like to eat, drink and shop. Much of your trip is included, so day to day you mainly need money for any meals not taken at your hotel, drinks, tips and shopping.
India's currency is the Indian Rupee, which is a closed currency: you cannot bring it in or take it out, so you obtain it on arrival at the airport or from ATMs. We recommend carrying some rupees once you are on the ground, useful for tipping, markets and small purchases along the way, though there is no need to carry large amounts, as it is very easy to draw cash from ATMs as you go. The easiest foreign currencies to exchange, or to carry in small denominations, are pounds, US dollars or euros, which guides and drivers will also accept as tips.

Yes, in hotels and most restaurants and larger shops. Smaller and street-side places will want cash, in rupees.
Tipping is common practice in India for good service, unlike the included service charge you might expect at home. We are happy to give you a simple guide to typical amounts for drivers, guides, porters and restaurants, and we usually suggest tipping your driver as a total at the end of the trip rather than daily.

Yes, but check your roaming charges first. An e-SIM is often the easiest option, or you can buy a local SIM in India, and we can help you arrange this.
India generally uses round-pin plugs (types D and M), so bring a suitable travel adapter. A multi-purpose adapter is the simplest solution.
