Who India Is Good For?
Wonderfully so, and arguably one of the most special honeymoons there is. India is amazing, adventurous and luxurious all at once, in a way that is hard to replicate anywhere else: extraordinary places to stay, stepwell dinners glowing with thousands of candles, wildlife and trekking, wonderful shopping, cafes and restaurants, world-class palaces and complete privacy whenever you want it. We design honeymoons that go well beyond the ordinary, and India combines brilliantly with the Maldives if you would like to finish on a beach.
India is one of the world's great luxury destinations, and a luxury India holiday here is about far more than beautiful hotels. On a luxury trip to India the real indulgence is access and time well spent: private views of monuments, dinners in remarkable settings, expert company and doors that open quietly. Our guides and local hosts can take you well beyond the usual.
Wonderfully so. India is the birthplace of yoga, meditation and Ayurveda, and wellness can be a gentle thread through your trip or its whole purpose. Kerala in the south is the heartland of Ayurveda, with dedicated retreats and treatments, while the north has the yoga traditions of the Himalayan foothills around Rishikesh. We can weave in yoga, spa time and Ayurvedic treatments wherever you are, or design an entire wellness journey if that is what you are after.
Yes, and travelling with Red Dot makes it considerably easier and more comfortable, with your own driver, expert guides and a team on the ground throughout.
India can be absolutely magical for children, and it is one of our favourite family destinations. Tigers and elephants, forts and palaces, trains and camel rides, cooking and craft: it captures young imaginations like almost nowhere else, and children are met with real warmth wherever they go. We would happily encourage young families to travel while the children are small, rather than waiting, as it is such a rich experience to share at that age. We tailor the pace and the content carefully for younger travellers, and international standard hotels make food and comfort straightforward. We cater well for teenagers too, and you can read why we think Rajasthan is made for teenagers.
Yes. The variety, the space and the range of hotels make India a great fit for several generations travelling together, with something to delight everyone and the logistics handled for you.
Plenty. In Jaipur alone we can arrange rickshaw rides paired with kite flying, puppet making, henna or block printing, a visit to the morning flower market and a day designed around children, alongside jeep safaris and wildlife encounters, cooking classes, craft workshops, cricket with locals and train journeys. You can see a selection on our India experiences page, and we will tailor them to your children's ages and interests.
