Bera Safari Lodge

Bera, India
Banner image image
Bera Safari Lodge is a sanctuary for both nature and nature-lover alike. When its founder Shatrunjay Pratap fought back against local mining efforts, he not only preserved Bera as a natural habitat, but allowed tourists to share his passion for nature with a stay at the safari lodge.

By day, journey through the hills and catch a glimpse of the myriad bird species that flock here. Lose yourself in an evening sharing stories by the campfire before spending a cosy night in one of its seven modern cottages.

And if the magic of nature isn’t quite enough, you can visit ancient temples or simply cool off in the pool.

What we love

    • A real treat for wildlife photographers and nature lovers. Eagles, pelicans, osprey, flamingos, crocodiles, sloths and even leopards are all waiting to be found
    • All cottages are spacious, stylish, and complete with all mod-cons, including air-con, mini fridges and two bathrooms
    • Expect a warm welcome and friendly hospitality. Your hosts, Shetrunjay & his wife Katyeyi, will make you feel right at home
    • The hotel offers plenty of experiences, including trips through 15th century UNESCO heritage sites and local Rabari villages

As unbeatable as it is to spot a leopard in its natural habitat, these creatures are elusive and there’s no guarantee of seeing one

It’s a long, 3-hour drive from Udaipur airport, but we’d happily make the journey for the opportunity to see such a broad and unique array of wildlife

Being so remote, there’s little local options for food, but we trust you’ll find something to like on the menu - all meals are made with fresh, local ingredients, prepared by Rajasthani chefs

Families are welcome, but amenities are not designed with families in mind
Bera Safari Lodge was founded by Shatrunjay Pratap, whose efforts fighting mining activity in the region has helped preserve the habitats for leopards, and a plethora of other species
Located on Leopard Safari Road next to Liloda Temple, off RJ SH 62, a 20-minute drive from the town of Bera, Rajasthan

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
