Bori Safari Lodge

Satpura National Park, India
Luxury hotel banner
Wildlife enthusiasts love this small safari lodge which offers an abundance of species to discover, away from the busy national park circuit.

Safari activities at Bori Safari Lodge focus on the wildlife-rich Bori Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild dog, jungle civet and an abundance of birdlife. Explore on morning, afternoon and night game drives, or engage your senses on a walking safari – this is one of only two places in central India where this is an option.

Whilst only a small property, with twelve guest rooms, the facilities are impressive, including a spa, swimming pool and library with numerous books on the natural history of the region. Meals are served in a beautiful dining hall or outside in the courtyard, and a range of cuisines are offered, including regional delicacies from Madhya Pradesh as well as more international fare. Each of the luxury rooms has two bedrooms, ensuite bathroom and all the modern conveniences travellers expect – air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and WiFi. All have a private viewing deck, a perfect spot to sit and relax and listen to the sounds of the forest.

What we love

    • The Bori Wildlife Sanctuary offers a more private safari experience than some of the busier areas of Satpura
    • The in-house team of naturalists go out of their way to showcase the diverse wildlife here
    • Heaters are provided to keep the warms cosy on cool nights
    • Night drives offer the opportunity to encounter nocturnal species including several species of civet, jungle cat, Indian crested porcupine and Bengal fox
    • Friendly, attentive staff make sure you have everything you need

Early morning and night game drives can be cold here – bring extra layers, hat and gloves

We recommend booking your safari activities well in advance

Internet connection can be patchy due to the remote location

Children of all ages are welcomed here and the two-bedroom rooms are well designed to accommodate up to three adults and one child, or two adults and two children.

The lodge is located in the Madhya Pradesh region, close to the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary which is part of the greater Satpura Tiger Reserve.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Wonderful company. Our holiday in Sri Lanka was perfect. Local knowledge made all the difference

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
