Leela Palace New Delhi

Delhi, India
Luxury hotel banner
Leela Palace New Delhi is a monument in the heart of the city - a vast, regal hotel with 260 rooms, and stories to tell from across the world through every opulent room and corridor.

While the building itself embraces Lutyens architecture, inside you will discover handwoven Turkish carpets, fresh flowers, and resplendent Venetian chandeliers.

You can indulge in lobster curry or Japanese sushi while marvelling at vivid Rajasthani paintings. From the bedside iPads allowing full control of your suite, to Delhi’s only rooftop infinity pool, Leela Palace New Delhi has something for any discerning traveller.

What we love

    • Regal decor and vases bursting with fresh flowers add to the opulent feel
    • Some of the largest rooms and suites New Delhi has to offer
    • Well-located in the city centre, close to myriad restaurants and attractions, from malls to Mughal monuments
    • You are spoiled for choice for food.
    • The hotel boasts three bars, and four specialty restaurants, serving traditional Indian, European and Japanese cuisine The hotel is complete with a spa and wellness centre, including sauna, fitness classes and Delhi’s only rooftop infinity pool

With 260 rooms and four restaurants, we’d advise you to make your dinner reservations early. Restaurants offer private dining, so on rare nights, they will be closed to other guests

It’s surrounded by embassies as opposed to Delhi’s key attractions but you’re only a short drive from Lodhi Gardens and Safdarjung's Tomb

Families are welcome, but amenities are not designed with families in mind. Some interconnecting rooms are available and babysitting can be arranged. Children under six stay free.

Leela Palace committed to a net zero target by 2050, by focusing on waste reduction, energy conservation, and responsible sourcing for staff, food, and materials used at the hotel.

Located in the Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi, it’s tucked away from the main attractions of the city but they’re easily accessible by car. It’s a five-minute drive from Safdarjung airport.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
