Samode Safari Lodge

Bandhavgarh National Park, India
Luxury hotel banner
Bandhavgarh National Park is home to the majestic tiger, and the Samode Safari Lodge offers the luxury traveller a bridge to nature without any compromise on comfort.

Meandering pathways connect the hotel’s elegantly designed private villas, in which forest murals hang over four-poster beds and free-standing baths compliment outdoor showers. Wild grasses surround the large and inviting pool, but you can just as easily find peace sprawled across the day-bed on your decking, or with a wildlife book from the library. Venture out on safari twice a day, or simply enjoy a picnic in the garden amongst the vibrant wildflowers.

What we love

    • An elegant hotel that offers privacy and luxury, while bringing guests up close to India’s diverse wildlife
    • The villas are bright, spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with all the amenities you need, from air conditioning and a minibar to an iPod dock and TVs
    • Take a splash in the pool after a long day’s safari, rejuvenate in the spa, or even hit the gym
    • Explore the park on safari twice a day, or enjoy a nature walk through the forests

There are no other restaurants nearby, but all meals are prepared on-site and dinner is served in a different place each day to spice things up

While a little far from the airports, we think the travel is worth it to be away from the city and in one of India’s most stunning national parks

Make sure to bring bug spray, especially if you’re thinking of travelling in the wetter months

Families are welcome, though amenities are not specifically designed with families in mind. Children under five can stay in their parent's bed for no extra charge. For children aged six and up, beds are available for an additional cost.

The lodge is designed with locally sourced natural materials, has a sewage treatment and compost plant, and is solar-powered. It also has its own garden where many of the restaurant’s ingredients are sourced.

Surrounded by 35 acres of wild forest in Bandhavgarh National Park, a 3-hour drive from Jabalpur Airport.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Wonderful company. Our holiday in Sri Lanka was perfect. Local knowledge made all the difference

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
