Singinawa Jungle Lodge

Kanha, India
Luxury hotel banner
The hundred acres of Kanha National Park that makes up Singinawa Jungle Lodge is a perfect blend of luxury and wilderness.

The lodge’s 12 cottages and two bungalows are homely and chic, complete with modcons while honouring the local culture with community artworks and natural materials. Dine boma-style under a clear night sky or simply feast on barbecued meats, and burn off your meals with laps in the shaded outdoor pool or hiking on safari.

The lodge’s expert naturalists will guide you through the jungle in search of birdlife and big cats, and families can even volunteer with the Foundation’s conservation activities.

What we love

    • Nature lovers will be spoilt by the wildlife here, with over three hundred species of birds, and the chance to spot the majestic tiger
    • Take your pick of memorable dining options, from silver service banquets to barbecues
    • All accommodation is spacious and cosy, and honours the area’s culture with local artwork and natural materials across every wall
    • Lounge by the pool in a shady oasis of trees, or rejuvenate in the hotel’s Meadow spa, with Indian or Nepalese treatments
    • There are specific games and activities for little ones to enjoy, from making and flying kites to plaster cast making

While there is no guarantee of seeing any particular species, the five expert naturalists on site will ensure you walk away having had a unique and immersive experience on safari

Far to get to from any international airport, but we think it’s more than worth it to be out in rural India, and with such great expertise on its flora and fauna

There are few options around you for restaurants, but with such unforgettable dining options at the lodge, we wouldn’t want to eat anywhere else

Families are welcome, and there are activities geared towards children like traditional games including marbles, catapulting, and kite flying. The hotel also provides cots, babysitters and bespoke food for children on request.

The owners established the Singinawa Conservation Foundation with the purpose of protecting the park and its ecosystem, and such work has included the planting of 30,000 saplings throughout the property and transforming an existing building into The Kanha Museum of Life & Art, which exhibits works by local craftsmen.

Singinawa also encourages guests to participate in Village and market visits to support the local economy, and they installed solar power on their premises to reduce their carbon footprint. Meals are prepared with organic produce from the property’s own farms.

Singinawaw Jungle Lodge is located in a boulder-strewn stretch of wild, rugged forest, in Kanha National Park, a 5-minute drive from the town of Baihar and a 4-hour 30-minute drive from Jabalpur International Airport.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Wonderful company. Our holiday in Sri Lanka was perfect. Local knowledge made all the difference

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
