Bandipur
Bandipur is a small hilltop town that feels like it has been left largely to its own devices, which is precisely what makes it worth visiting.
The main street is traffic-free, lined with well-preserved Newari architecture and views that stretch out across the valley to the Himalayan peaks beyond. It sits between Kathmandu and Pokhara and makes a genuinely good reason to break the journey rather than just push straight through. There are a handful of small guesthouses and the pace is slow. We find it works particularly well for those who want a taste of traditional hill town life without the trekking commitment.
