Red Dot designs completely bespoke holidays to Sri Lanka. We listen to your likes, dislikes, how you like to pace your trip, the type of hotels you enjoy and along with your budget we create a completely tailor-made itinerary to Sri Lanka, using our expertise and knowledge. We can discuss on the phone, on WhatsApp, via a video call – however you like.

Red Dot creates tailor-made itineraries to a small number of specialist regions, and not the whole world. Because we only specialise in Sri Lanka, India, Bhutan, Nepal and The Maldives, and the fact that we have offices in both Sri Lanka and The UK and partner offices in Bhutan and Nepal, means we have very genuine specialist knowledge and know our destinations inside out. We live and breathe what we do and would consider ourselves total experts - our all female sales team in Sri Lanka and The UK receives incredible feedback; our reviews speak for themselves. The fact we have a team based on the ground in Sri Lanka, along with the UK, means you are also completely covered on different time zones. This means you get support and connection throughout the day and night when you are on the ground. We have been operating for 20 years so we have a huge amount of expertise, knowledge and connections on the ground – which results in seamless journeys, specialist guiding and operations. It also means that when there is an issue we can be very quick to act.

Our tailor-made holidays to Sri Lanka include 24 hour support, hand-picked stays in beautiful accommodation, your own personal chauffeur guide and high quality vehicle, and all local guides / hosts and experiences. We also are an ABTOT member and are ATOL protected.

A tailor-made holiday to Sri Lanka includes a private driver and is designed completely around you. All of the accommodation is handpicked, the route is designed around your interests and weather patterns. A package holiday which is pre-designed on specific dates and in specific hotels.

Yes all of our trips to Sri Lanka are completely private and bespoke. We do not offer set packages or group tours.

Once you are happy with your Sri Lankan itinerary that we have designed for you, you just need to pay a small deposit. This is normally around 20%.

Our chauffeur guides are the thing that sets Red Dot apart in Sri Lanka, probably more than anything else, and it is worth explaining why.

There is a difference between a local driver and a chauffeur guide, and then there is a further difference again between a chauffeur guide and a Red Dot chauffeur guide. A driver takes you from one place to the next, and that is often the extent of it: a car and a road. A chauffeur guide does more, driving you while also showing you the country. But the standard varies enormously, and this is where we are genuinely different. Ours are hand-picked, we have worked with many of them for years, and our team in Colombo knows each of them personally rather than pulling names from a pool. They are highly professional, punctual and very knowledgeable.

That personal knowledge means we can match you to the right guide rather than simply the next one available. If you are travelling with children, we will pair you with someone who is particularly good with them, which makes a real difference to how the days work, how engaged everyone is and how relaxed everyone feels.

Our chauffeur guides are highly trained and quick to adapt, many with real depth in areas like wildlife, birding, food or history. They will explain why a particular temple matters, tell you where to stop for the best short eats, sense when you have had enough of a busy town and would rather head up into the hills, and shape the day around you as it unfolds. They are, in short, a step above, and they are a huge part of why we do as well as we do.

The trouble is that none of this is easy to put on paper. The quality of a guide does not show up in a list of inclusions, and two trips can look identical on the page while the experience on the ground is worlds apart. You only really feel it once you are out on the road with someone who knows their subject and loves sharing it.

Which is why we point people towards our reviews. On TripAdvisor and Feefo, guests write about their guides by name and at length, and they do it year after year. For something so hard to capture beforehand, that is the clearest proof we can offer.
