Villa Ahasa

Habaraduwa, Sri Lanka
Luxury hotel banner
Peacefully positioned on the golden stretch of Koggala beach, between the remarkable Galle Fort and Mirissa beach, Villa Ahasa offers the perfect location for Southern Sri Lankan exploration.

Composed of whitewashed wood and terracotta tiles, the property exudes refined elegance; the landscaped gardens roll down to the beach and are complete with a plethora of ancient palms, a seamless infinity pool, and ample space for relaxation, whether under the terraced veranda, or in a pool side deckchair.

The interiors are second-to-none, a careful combination of contemporary grace and Sri Lankan design, the villa features hand-picked and crafted Sri Lankan artifacts, accented by whitewashed wooden furnishings and a cream colour palette that reflect the exterior hues, creating a seamless feel to the home. The three four-poster king bedrooms echo the design choices and each feature stunning views directly onto the beach through the leaning palms. The property is fully staffed, and with attentive luxury in mind, be prepared to experience perfectly curated meals, suited to whatever cuisine you desire.

What we love

    • The position of the property makes it the ultimate spot for sunsets; watch the sun slowly dip into the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean as the sky turns a breathtaking myriad of colours
    • Whale watching excursions can be organised to take you out on the water with these gentle giants for a once-in-a-lifetime experience
    • The expansive 15 metre infinity pool provides the perfect spot for soaking up the sun and peaceful ambience of this tranquil location in ultimate style

Although the property does create an entirely secluded atmosphere, it is neighboured by a sister villa, Villa Sulanga, which may be rented out at the same time. However, each is completely separate with private facilities and a wall running in between

The two upstairs bedrooms of the property are inter-connected, making it perfect for family stays. One of the bedrooms can be made up as a twin instead of a king, and extra beds can be supplied to cater for children. The property’s private chef cooks entirely based on your preferences, making catering for the whole family an easy task.

The villa was planned by celebrated architect Channa Daswatte; internationally recognised for his integration of local materials and sustainable practices into modern luxury. The gardens of the property are meticulously maintained to support local biodiversity.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort, originally built by the Portuguese in 1588, is just 14km away. The railway station in Galle itself is the nearest station. The nearest helipad is 2km from the property, and the main airport is 2hrs 30mins away at Colombo.

Koggala Lake is just 1km from the property and offers canoe hire and boating tours of the natural lake, enclosed by verdant tropical greenery.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
