The Sri Lanka Travel Specialists
Kassapa Lions Rock, named after the legend that surrounds the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, offers comfortable accommodation in 51 individual chalets and dining and spa facilities within a rural setting, surrounded by tropical trees which attract numerous species of bird. After a rewarding day of exploring Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, relax by the pool side and dine on traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. This is one of two hotels in the Cultural Triangle with views of both gigantic Sigiriya Rock and neighbouring Pidurangala Rock. Kassapa Lions Rock has been recognized as a rewarding location for bird watching by the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka.
There are 51 well-designed individual chalets, each with a spacious a/c bedroom, private veranda, and ensuite bathroom with a bath tub and open-air h/w shower. In-room facilities include satellite TV, tea/coffee facility, mini-fridge and room service. Some of the chalets are adjoining and ideal for families.
Meals are served buffet style in the main restaurant, or there is the option of in-room dining. Sri Lankan and western cuisine is on offer, prepared with fresh vegetables and herbs purchased from the nearby village home gardens. There is a well-stocked bar and drinks are served in the gardens at the roof top terrace. Other facilities include: a swimming pool; an Ayurvedic spa offering relaxing massages; Wi-Fi, and laundry service. Bicycles are also available.
Kassapa Lions Rock is scattered over 10 acres of landscaped gardens in the rural village of Digampathaha, just 20 minutes from Sirigiya Rock Fortress. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take up to four hours.
