Golden Triangle with Tigers

India
9 days (8 nights)
From the bejewelled palaces, ornate forts and carved temples of India’s golden triangle to the jungle-clad lodges, serene lakes and alluring wilderness of its famed national park, you’ll have an inspirational introduction to this iconic region and its inimitable wildlife.

This sample tailor-made itinerary to India shows how you can combine the best of the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) with time enjoying the wildlife and serenity of Ranthambore National Park.

Inspired? Tell us your interests, your likes and dislikes, and we’ll design a bespoke itinerary to India built around your own highlights and our deep expertise.

You’ll be met at the airport by a private driver and taken straight to your hotel. Soak up your initial glimpses of this vibrant city, watching tuk-tuks jostle for space with brightly coloured buses and chaiwalas vying for streetside trade.
You’ll be wandering the riwaq of the vast mosque with your private guide, before hopping on a rikshaw to weave through the vibrant markets. Then, it’s on to New Delhi’s Sikh temple, Lutyen’s colonial architecture and the serene, Taj-inspiring Humayun’s Tomb.
See
  • Guided tour of Old and New Delhi, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Spice Market, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Lutyen’s Delhi, Humayun’s Tomb
This morning you’re boarding a train to Agra where you’ll explore the majestic Mughal architecture. Starting at the Red Fort and then on to the ‘baby taj’ of Itmad-ud-Daula, you’ll discover intricate carvings, marble inlay and sweeping views along the Yamuna River.
See
  • The Red Fort, Yamuna River, Itmad-ud-Daula
Your day starts early, watching the kaleidoscopic play of sunrise on marble at the Taj Mahal. You’ll have plenty of time to wander here before boarding a train to Ranthambore, passing snapshots of rural life: goat herders, bullock carts and waving children
See
  • Sunrise at the Taj Mahal
With two safari drives today you’ll be fully immersed in the jungle. Tracking alarm calls to seek elusive tigers, criss-crossing open meadows and dappled shady woodlands, passing serene lakes and jungle-clad lodges. Look out for leopards, sloth bears, mugger crocodiles and wild boar.
See
  • Morning and evening safari drives with a naturalist guide
One final safari drive this morning, soaking in the calls of chattering langurs, the songs of over 270 species of birds and the thrill of the quest to see the park’s notorious predators. Then, you’re driving to Jaipur through the wild Aravalli Hills.
See
  • Morning safari drive
Today you’re exploring Jaipur. Your guide will walk you through intricate Rajput architecture, around cosmic masterpieces, under multitudes of ornate windows and up to hillside mirrored halls and snaking fortifications as you take in the majesty and opulence of the pink city.
See
  • Guided city tour, City Palace and Museum, Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort
You have a free day today to wander the city or relax at your hotel. We recommend perusing the bustling city markets, maybe taking an early stroll through Phool Mandi flower market, abuzz with headily scented sacks of vibrant flowers
You have a relaxing morning to your final day in India, giving you some time to purchase some last-minute keepsakes from the streetside bazaars. This afternoon you’re driving back to Delhi in time to check-in for your flight home.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.

Red Dot organised the most wonderful 3-week holiday for us. Samanthie built a trip around the amazing sights we had requested visiting, together with her own suggestions and a wide mix of hotels, which gave us the flavours of both traditional Sri Lanka and the sleek, stylish contemporary version of the country. Our Driver made the whole experience incredibly special for us.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. As a family of all adults, every suggestion from daily activities to hotel choices was simply perfect. We travelled through Delhi, Ranthambore (an unforgettable tiger safari!), Jaipur and Agra and I truly feel we experienced the very best of each destination while moving at a relaxed, well thought out pace

My partner arranged a holiday trip at fairly short notice to Sri Lanka with Red Dot on a recommendation, Samanthie was so patient & helpful with her suggested itinerary which we followed with some minor amendments. On arrival at Colombo we met Manjula our chauffeur/guide who was absolutely brilliant!

Dulmini and the Red Dot Team arranged a fantastic trip for us around Assam and North East India. Faultless service. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Wonderful company. Our holiday in Sri Lanka was perfect. Local knowledge made all the difference

We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.

A 14-day tour with Red Dot Tours was the perfect antidote to the bleak UK winter. After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we contacted Red Dot Tours and were not disappointed. Our consultant, Lahiru, curated a seamless itinerary. Throughout the planning phase, Lahiru was incredibly responsive; the final itinerary—delivered via a user-friendly 'Guest Portal'—was impressively detailed, covering every hotel stay and excursion.
