Majgaon
Majgaon is a small Gurung village in the lower Annapurna foothills at around 1,400 metres, sitting on a terraced hillside with views across the valley to Machhapuchhre.
The village has the feel of an old tea plantation, with traditional Gurung houses scattered around well-kept gardens and a quietly easy atmosphere. It is one of the more accessible stops on the Gurung Trail, reached by a short drive from Pokhara and an hour’s climb on foot. We use it as a calm penultimate trekking night before the descent into Dhampus, the kind of evening that tends to end with sundowners on the garden terrace and the warmth of a lodge fireplace.
