Depart Thimphu early, climbing into the highlands toward the Black Mountains. Pause at the Dochu La mountain pass, where 108 memorial chortens stand against a backdrop of snow-capped Himalayan peaks, before descending into the vast, U-shaped Phobjikha Valley.
