North West Coast & Wilpattu National Park
Sri Lanka's largest wilderness, Wilpattu, is home to a significant leopard population among natural lakes (called villu) that glisten like mirrors in the scrubland. Wilpattu's unique ecosystem supports not only substantial numbers of leopards but also sloth bears, spotted deer, and over 230 bird species that thrive around the park's distinctive water-filled depressions. Wilpattu is one of our preferred national parks in Sri Lanka. It's a quieter alternative to Yala National Park and combines brilliantly with The Cultural Triangle.
